A-ALERT DRIVING SCHOOL

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1- HOW LONG DO YOUR CLASSES TAKE?
ANS: Generally speaking it take about four weeks to finish a
classroom session. This is just slightly over the minimum required by state law which says
a classroom session must extend over a minimum of three weeks with no more than two clock
hours per day. {trans: 105.07 (2a)}. If a driving school says it can do it faster than
that, they are in violation of state department of transportation rules. Do you really
want your student to attend such a school?
2- ON WHAT NIGHTS ARE YOUR CLASSES AND HOW MANY NIGHTS PER
WEEK?
ANS: During the school year, when
teens have other homework to do, A-ALERT schedules its classes usually three nights per
week....sometimes a fourth may be necessary. These are scheduled as
Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday and sometimes a Thursday night. Our schedule is put together to
allow teens time for other activities and other school subjects. During summer sessions,
classes may be held five nights
per week (Monday Thru Friday).
3- AT WHAT AGE SHOULD I ENROLL MY STUDENT?
ANS: A-ALERT believes students
should begin classroom around 15 years six months. Our time-tested philosophy is that a
student can apply for their temps at this age and we believe they should have their temps
to practice for the full six months, before taking their road test. It simply gives them
more experience in driving before getting their license. The AAA Foundation for Traffic
Safety reports that more than
40 percent of 16 year old drivers have a crash that is severe enough to be reported to
police. As a matter of fact the leading cause of death for
teens is motor vehicle crashes. Unlike other driving schools, A-ALERT works with the
student over a six-month period rather than giving your six quick driving lessons and
leaving you on your own until the teen turns 16. And the best part is, our system works.
It's for your student drivers benefit, not ours. Start with A-ALERT and build a safe
driver early. ASK PARENTS WHO HAVE HAD STUDENTS ATTEND
A-ALERT ! Our rate of return for
families who have more than one of their students attend our school is nearly 100 percent.
4- WHAT IF MY TEEN IS ALREADY 16 OR 17..... CAN THEY GO TO
A-ALERT?
ANS: Certainly...... but keep in mind, we probably won't rush
their training. We simply don't believe in hurrying education. Ask yourself if it
is really in your teens best interest.
5- IS YOUR PRICE THE CHEEPEST ?
ANS: PROBABLY NOT. But is price
how your really want to select a school to teach your child.. George Hensel in his
Warner Books publication "LEARN TO DRIVE" offers his test for a driving school.....which warns of schools offering
lower prices (rates per hour) and special discounts. He says: ' A SUPERIOR PROFESSIONAL DRIVING SCHOOLS DOES NOT RESORT TO 'A SUMMER
SPECIAL' 'WINTER SPECIAL' OR OTHER TYPES OF SALES GIMMICK TO DRAW THE PUBLIC. IT STANDS ON
ITS OWN REPUTATION.' "A SCHOOL WITH A GOOD REPUTATION, A
PROVEN RECORD OF SUCCESS, IS YOUR GUARANTEE OF RECEIVING TRULY PROFESSIONAL
INSTRUCTION." THAT'S A-ALERT. IN BUSINESS IN WEST BEND WITH A PROVEN RECORD SINCE
1984. HOW LONG HAS THE SCHOOL BEEN IN BUSINESS THAT YOU ARE CONSIDERING ?.
6- WHAT HAPPENS IF MY STUDENT MISSES A CLASSROOM SESSION ?
ANS: THE STUDENT IS ALLOWED TO
MISS TWO CLASSROOM SESSIONS OR FOUR HOURS OF CLASS. IF THE STUDENT MISSES MORE, STATE LAW
REQUIRES THE STUDENT BE DROPPED FROM THAT GROUP OR SESSION. [TRANS 105.05 (2){a)]
A-ALERT ALLOWS THE STUDENT TO CONTINUE IN THE NEXT CLASSROOM SESSION, FROM THE POINT OF
THE THIRD ABSENCE, UNTIL THE STUDENT FINISHES.
BEHIND-THE-WHEEL DRIVING APPOINTMENTS ARE SCHEDULED INDIVIDUALLY WITH EACH STUDENT.
DURING THE WEEK STUDENTS MAY SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS AFTER SCHOOL. THE STUDENTS ARE PICKED
